HERO Founder
HIV Experience Resources Organization (HERO), is a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization. HERO was founded by Michael Cavnaugh, former Vice President of Event Presentation at Madison Square Garden, who realized there was not an online resource to navigate a complicated system to get help if you are newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.

HERO serves three purposes. First, we provide local national and international resources available for people newly diagnosed and people living HIV.

Secondly, we work to promote the services and activities of our partners. These partners include; Broadway Cares, Equity Fights AIDS, The Actors Fund, GMHC, Callen-Lorde Medical, The LBGT Center of New York, Housing Works, The Jed Foundation, Pflag, The Point Foundation and many others.

And third, we promote the importance of safe sex practices. We cover major media events and interview celebrities regarding the importance of practicing sex safety and encourage people to take good care themselves mentally and physically if they are living with HIV/AIDS.
